Alan Smart, passed away Monday 10th December 2001 at 4.20pm. Born to Roy and Muriel Smart in Bulwell Nottingham and eventually moved to Bestwood Estate with my mum Dawn Smart. Died at the young age of 52 from cancer of the pancreas. Husband to Dawn Smart, Father to Deborah, Diane and Christine, Son-in-law to Ida and Eric Curtis, Grandad to Kirsty Smith and Bethany Eve Shaw and Nephew to Alice Ward.
Alan was known by alot people as a caring and helpful person who cared for everyone he knew, he had a lot of friends and was well known in the area by neighbours etc.
Christine - My dad meant the world to me and i was very much a daddy's girl. I miss him so much and 6 years on from his passing he is still very much a part of my life and it gives me peace to know he is with his father and mother and looking and bringing up my daugher Bethany in heavens kingdom.

Hi Dad, sorry I haven't written until now, but am always thinking of you and miss you lots. I wish you were here to talk to you and to spend time with me and Kirsty and the rest of our family. Now me and Deborah can drive we have numerous family days out and you would have loved to come out with us in our cars. Me and Kirsty have just returned from Great Yarmouth on holiday, remember when we went with Mum, Deborah, me and Christine when we were kids and last year we went to Weymouth, what holidays they were, brilliant!
You would love Kirsty and Lee (Deborah's fiance) and know that you love and look after Bethany where we can't. Just wanted to write to say that I love you and miss you.
Keep shining in the sky and we will all look out for you with Bethany by your side, love Diane xx

Daddy its been 7 years now since you were taken by god to a better place from this horrible world we live in. You are always in my heart and i think about you everyday, I know you are watching over me and i always think that the sun shinning down on me is you looking in on me. Through loosing Bethany i wish you could have been there physcially by my side however that wasnt to be, but i know that you gave me the strength to get through her Birth knowing she wasnt going to live.
You are never forgotten and i miss you so much. I also know that one day we will meet again when its my time to join you. Hold Bethany tightly for me and give her a big kiss and hug from her mummy.
